Personality:
Thundercracker is, by all accounts, a very odd bot. Once a Decepticon Seeker, he now lives on Earth surrounded by television screens and no desire to get himself involved with the affairs of other Cybertronians.

Unlike his 'siblings' Starscream and Skywarp, Thundercracker is less sold on the whole 'kill everyone that stands in our way' policy that Decepticons usually follow. He's followed his orders for millions of years doing exactly that, but the doubts never really went away. He saw organic species as beneath them, and because of it, their constant extermination in the name of the Decepticon cause as pointless and unnecessary. This, according to others, makes him a very poor Decepticon. And considering that he eventually saves both the Autobots and humans by deflecting a nuclear bomb that would have leveled New York City, they're not exactly wrong.

But to Thundercracker his actions aren't betrayal, it's just a rejection of the ideology of unnecessary sadism and violence that he feels the Decepticons have come to embrace. "The Decepticons are forged through combat, not slaughter" is the reason he gives for his actions, and is sorely punished for it. Thundercracker believes himself to be honorable, a counterpoint to the rest of his comrades in the Decepticon cause. And he is, keeping his word and refraining from crushing the squishy organics beneath his feet.

He doesn't, however, regret his choice even though it left him friendless and alone.

This doesn't make him cheerful or willing to get along with everyone that wanders across his path, however. He's still bad tempered - although there's signs that a significant amount of that might simply be a front - and unwilling to converse with anyone. He honestly, truly, just wants to be left alone to live his life on Earth however he sees fit, without interruptions by either side. Or by humans wanting his help.

Of course life isn't perfect, and it's threats to his peaceful, hermit-y existence that can spur him into action. Bumblebee rightly points out that no matter what, Thundercracker is a warrior at heart and he'll eventually be pulled back into it - that's just the way it is. But he's come to appreciate the fact that, unlike Cybertronians, Earth and the humans on it can change. 'Every act of destruction is an act of creation,' and for someone who's seen so much destruction over four million years, he can't understand it. He's trying, though, and probably succeeding more than any other Cybertronian.

Thundercracker still has his arrogance, but it's tempered by an appreciation for humanity and Earth gained from years living on the planet and exposure to an obscene amount of television. He eventually goes from finding humans unworthy of being the target of their firepower to coming to admire their capacity for change. And while he's reluctant to admit how much he's come to like Earth (still referring to it as a 'stupid planet') it's rather obvious. He owns a puggle he named 'Buster' and is working on a screenplay for a TV show he feels captures the finer details of human relationships set in a hospital. He's also familiar with the internet and, by exposure, enormous amounts of pop culture - even incorporating slang into his speech in a way that other Cybertronians don't.

It would be a huge mistake, however, to think that he's completely harmless. Bumblebee calls him 'the most dangerous Cybertronian on Earth,' and he's made it very clear that if anyone should disturb his peace he'll respond with violence. And as one of Megatron's elite soldiers he can do a lot of damage should he decide that it's necessary. This, too, is tempered over time and exposure to humanity - but he's not quite there yet.

Antisocial and more than content to watch television all day, Thundercracker is one difficult bot to deal with on the best of days. But he's honorable and hardly a threat to humanity as a whole, unlike the rest of the Decepticons. Unless you count the fact that his screenplays are awful and he's looking for an agent.
